A Bit About Maegan Leigh
My name is Maegan Leigh Fasnacht. Before permanent makeup I was a dental hygienist for 7 years. In 2017 I decided to invest in something that I love, something that I’ve always wanted to do! Brow tattoing not only changes the shape or size of the brow, it enhances your looks. I love creating a boost in self esteem, and making lives a lot easier. Who wants worry about your brows smudging off after a workout, leaving a brow print on someone's shoulder with a hug, or a swim at the local pool?! To be able to get up and go without spending 20+ minutes in the mirror trying to perfect your brows feels AMAZING. I love being creative, being an artist and helping people feel beautiful inside and out.
Services and common questions
Microblading $400 ($200 each appointment)
This technique is a process that may be used to improve or create definition of the brow. Microblading can be used to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows, or may be used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little to no hair. Each microblading stroke is applied individually, allowing me to control the shape, color and density of the completed eyebrows.
Microblading is done with a tool called a microblade… it is a manual pen shaped tool that has a collection of tiny needles arranged in a specific way to help the artist create each, individual hair stroke.
Microblading is best for clients who have dry to normal skin, fine/thin brow hair that lays flat against the skin, or no brow hair, small pores, rarely sweat/workout, want a NO makeup look that will heal very soft. If you're not a candidate for Microblading... 95% of my clients opt for combo or ombre brows which is best for all skin types and lasts between 18-36months.
Microblading lasts between 8-12months for most. (depending on skin type, aftercare, skin products, sun exposure)
Annual touch up $200
Ombré powder brows $400 ($200 each appointment)
Ombré powder brows is a form of semi permanent tattooing done with a digital device (tattoo machine) that regulates pigment placement, depth, and speed. The technique is described by its name, with results being powdery with a faded front and a crisp tail, resembling the look of makeup. It can last 1-3years depending on your lifestyle/skin typing/aftercare/sun exposure etc.
Ombre is great for ALL skin types with no contraindications. Can be done bold or very soft depending on what you are looking for. Most clients come for touch ups between 18-36months.
Annual touch up $200
Combo brows (ombré + microblading) $400 ($200 each appointment)
Combination brows is marrying microblading and ombré brows together. If you are looking for the look of hairstrokes, but also want a full/dense defined body and tail this look is for you! I also offer a soft combo brow which would be majority hairstrokes and a soft powder fill to help create density throughout the entire brow.
Combo brows are great for ALL skin types, no contraindications. It can be done very soft or bold depending on what you are looking for. Combo brow touch ups are typically done between 18-36mo.
Annual touch up $200
What to expect for my first visit
Upon entering the studio, I will ask that you fill out a medical history form, as well as signing off on an informational sheet that will tell you all the risks that can occur from tattooing. After that we will talk shape size and color for your brows. I always follow the natural shape of your brows and bone structure for the most realistic, natural finish. I will answer any and all questions you have during this process (you may also text or message me with any and all questions prior to coming in).
Next is the pre-draw where I do some measurements for symmetry and make sure everything is to your liking before we tattoo you. Once you love your outline, if getting combo or ombre brows I will do a very soft outline first. This is not a painful experience for 99% of clients (pain tolerance will make a difference for some). This process takes about 10mins MAX. Microblading clients will be numbed FIRST for approximately 15 minutes before tattooing. After the skin is broken I use another numbing agent that will enter the broken skin to ensure your are numb, and stay numb for the entire process.
The entire session is about 2 hours. I will have you check your brows before you leave and explain your aftercare process. An ointment will be placed on the brows to protect them for a short period. I can answer all questions regarding healing once explained. Aftercare information/sheets will either be sent via text/email/messenger or in paper form (paper aftercare is only given at first visit for new clients. If you're a returning client it will be sent via email, text or fb messenger). Most clients are extremely relaxed since they are numb and fall asleep 😊, this is completely normal. If you are nervous and would rather talk the entire time I am ok with that of course! Whatever makes you feel most comfortable during the process.
How many appointments do I need and how long will this last?
Two sessions are needed to complete New client microblading/ ombré/ combo brows. Color can fade up to 50% the first session since I go pretty subtle and soft at first to see how your skin will take the pigmentation, therefore a second session is important. The second session is scheduled 4-8 weeks out once the brows are completely healed. At touch up time we can adjust the shape and make the color darker, warmer or cooler if requested. This is a semi permanent tattoo, so it can last between 8-12 months for microblading and 1-3 years for ombre or combo brows (depending on how well you take care of them, skin type, lifestyle, hormones, age etc). I recommend a touch up between 12-24mo OR once the brows have faded 40-50%. Time for touch ups is different for everyone. Touch ups are necessary to keep the color crisp, warm and the shape clean and defined.
What do I need to avoid before my appointment?
* If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you are not a candidate at this time*
*If you have previous work done by another artist other than myself you MUST contact me via text (2167735851) prior to booking a touch up. Photos of work done by other artists need to be approved first. This service is for touch ups ONLY. If you will need to completely start over, you are not a candidate at this time.
*Prior to your appointment there are some things you need to avoid. Please refrain from alcohol for 24-48 prior to you appointment. Alcohol causes excessive bleeding which pushes pigment out of the skin which will affect the retention of ink once the brows heal. I also suggest avoiding caffeine and blood thinners for the same reasons listed above.
*Botox, Retin-A, Glycolic acid or fillers must be completed 2 weeks before or after your scheduled appointment*
*Please refrain from brow or lash growth serum's on the brows at least 4wks before your appointment. Using those products can cause the skin to thin and the pigment to be implanted too deep leaving a dark/grey healed color. Or no color at all.
*If you use any lightening/brightening/skin tightening/anti aging creams or serums, you must keep it away from your BROWS indefinitely. Those products WILL cause fading of the color and can cause brows to change into an odd/unwanted color.
Healing process
Day of treatment the brows will appear very dark and bold. Slight swelling and redness is possible depending on how sensitive your skin is.
Day 2 the brows will be darker than day one, don't worry, the color will start to soften gradually during the healing process.
Day 3-6 you may notice the brows are starting to peel/flake. This is completely normal. Some clients flake and scab more than others. The tattoo may look patchy and uneven during this healing process. Please trust the process and know the color may appear very light once the scab falls off, but the color will return once the skin is fully healed in 3-4 weeks.
Day 6-14 the brows will probably look very light and the color may look patchy or uneven. The skin is in it's healing stage, therefore the tattoo color is hidden under a veil of fresh new skin. Please allow a full 3 weeks for the skin to heal for the final results.
Any areas that healed light or did not retain pigment color will be adjusted at the touch up appointment. Remember this is a two step process, your new Beautiful brows will be complete after your second session. Tweeks such as wanting the brows a darker color, longer or thicker can be done at the second appointment.
Aftercare
Microblading & Powder brow Aftercare Instructions
It is essential that you follow these instructions after your tattoo session.
Day 1 (Day of Treatment): Keep aftercare ointment on for 1 hour, then wipe dry with tissue once home. Before bed gently wipe brows with baby wipe/makeup wipe/cotton pad and micelar water to remove excess pigment and lymph fluid from the brows to lessen scabbing.
Day 2: Wipe brows GENTLY 2x a day with baby wipe/makeup wipe/cotton pad and micelar water.
OMBRE/COMBO BROWS, MICROBLADING:
Day 3-14: Wash brows gently, pat dry and then apply a very small amount of aftercare to the area 2X a day. USE SPARINGLY, eyebrows should not look overly wet or oily. Total wet time for the first 5 days is about one minute total each day(Wash once a day apply aftercare 2X a day).
The following MUST be avoided during all 7- 14 days post-microblading procedure (could be longer if have deeper wounds):
Excessive sweating, working out etc. (3-4 days) Tanning in sun, or tanning beds Drinking alcohol in excess due to the possibility of slowing the healing process Makeup directly on the eyebrows ** Swimming Hot sauna, steam rooms, hot baths, or Jacuzzis Any laser or chemical treatments and/or peelings Using creams containing Retin A, Glycolic Acid, or Renova on the neck or face Picking, peeling, scratching, of the microbladed areas in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of pigment Driving in open air vehicles such as: convertibles, boats, bicycles, and motorcycles Touching of the microbladed areas except for rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab Do not get brows wet In the shower. During your shower, face away from the oncoming water.
The area around your brows may become dry and even flaky; this is normal and you will be able to wash your face more thoroughly after your brows have fully healed.
What to Expect During and After your Microblading Procedure
Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear VERY SHARP AND DARK immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not settled in completely yet. The color of the pigment will soften gradually. Once the healing of your skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. Certain areas of the brow may flake off and look too light. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows. Uneven color is NORMAL healing. Please allow 4 weeks for the true color to show. A touch up after 4-6 weeks is recommended to correct any areas that did not retain the pigment or for any changes to darken or slightly change shape if requested. IN SOME CASES OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE TECHNICIAN, successful color penetration can NOT be guaranteed due to skin typing. Everyone heals differently and it is up to YOUR body to retain the micropigmentation. Results may vary. If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of your skin, Please contact me immediately at (216)773-5851. Once completely healed, always apply a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away much faster than desired. You can now enjoy your gorgeous new brows!!
Two appointments are required. Each appointment price is split into 2 payments equalling the total price listed.
